THE BUILDING KIT
SIGNATURE VS. HYBRID
For each building model, we offer two types of building packages: Signature and Hybrid. The main difference between the two options is how the perimeter structural walls are constructed, and your decision will depend on the location of your building site, as well as your preferred interior aesthetic.
From the exterior, both kits look identical. From the interior, both kits have a beautiful, full view of our exquisite truss and roof system.
SIGNATURE BUILDING PACKAGE
This kit is great for temperate climates with building codes that allow single wall construction. With the signature kit, you have the ability to select your interior wall finish—either: a paint color of your choice (pictured above is a white paint finish), woven bamboo, or split bamboo. No matter the choice, these wall panel finishes are included in the kit cost. With this building package, you can enjoy beautiful exposed bamboo throughout your entire home.

HYBRID BUILDING PACKAGE
This kit is perfect for building codes that require insulation for heating or cooling. Your contractor builds walls to our specs and conventionally frames them. This kit combines an exquisite balance of the Signature Series’ exotic bamboo exterior look, with a modern, smooth wall interior. Although less bamboo is visible, the contrast between the smooth walls and the bamboo ceiling creates a striking, contemporary look.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE BUILDING PACKAGE
The listed cost of our building packages reflects only the cost of the items included in the kit and does not encompass all the items required to completely finish your project. Certain items will depend on local material costs and site circumstances which can cause a variance in cost implications. Once you have your final building plans, we can provide you with a list of project managers and general contractors who are familiar with our bamboo homes to offer a detailed finishing cost estimate.
THE SIGNATURE BUILDING PACKAGE:
STRUCTURAL BAMBOO WALLS
The interior of the bamboo wall panels are finished with the material of your choice—custom paint color (as shown above), woven bamboo, or split bamboo. Openings for doors and windows are pre-cut into the panels that are delivered to your site.
SPLIT BAMBOO EXTERIOR SIDING
Our split bamboo siding gives our buildings an exotic and striking look. Not only is it beautiful, it comes with a durable finish that protects your home from rain, termites, and other pests.
BAMBOO STRUCTURAL ROOF
Our structural roof includes stunning bamboo trusses and structural roof panels. The interior of the panels are finished with the material of your choice—custom paint color, woven bamboo, or split bamboo (as shown above). The exterior of the panels is constructed with exterior grade plywood that is ready to receive the roofing material of your choice. (Roofing is NOT included in the building package.)
BAMBOO EAVES & EAVE BRACES
Our kits come with 3.5 ft eaves, offering your building ample protection from the elements. Our buildings are designed to stand the test of time!
PORCH POSTS & RAILINGS
Our kits come with substantial lanai space that allows for comfortable indoor-outdoor living. While the porch posts and railings are included in the kit, decking material will be selected by you and installed by your contractor, and is NOT included in the building package.
LOFT RAILINGS (IF APPLICABLE)
If your selected building model includes a loft, bamboo loft railings are included in the building kit for your safety.
BAMBOO TRIM
Plenty of trim is included in the building kit for when you're ready to give your home its final touches.
THE HYBRID BUILDING PACKAGE:
Our hybrid kits include everything listed above in our signature kit, except for the structural bamboo walls.
With the hybrid model, the walls are constructed using locally sourced materials and are conventionally framed by your contractor. Once your foundation and perimeter walls are in place, the remaining bamboo elements from your kit are assembled. Both the signature and hybrid buildings look identical from the outside; however, the hybrid model offers the added benefit of double walls for improved insulation.
WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED:
ROOFING
Our bamboo structural roof works with a variety of roofing material, giving you the ability to choose the material you prefer, but it is not included in the building package.
EXTERIOR & INTERIOR FLOORING
Any exterior decking/flooring as well as interior flooring is selected by you to ensure your personal style and preferences are reflected in every detail, but it is not included in the building package.
DOORS & WINDOWS
While the openings are pre-cut into the wall panels, doors and windows are selected by you and installed by your contractor. Bamboo Living offers expertly hand-crafted bamboo interior doors that perfectly complement the aesthetic of our bamboo homes.
FOUNDATION, SKIRTING, & NON-BAMBOO EXTERIOR SIDING
Whether you decide to go with a concrete slab, post & pier, or any other type of foundation, the materials are sourced locally and the construction is done by your contractor. The same goes for any skirting and non-bamboo siding that may be included in the scope of your project.
CABINETRY, FURNITURE, FIXTURES, & APPLIANCES
Throughout the building's design development phase, our architects will work closely with you to guarantee that all your fixture, appliance, and furniture selections integrate seamlessly with our building package construction. Bamboo Living offers beautiful and high quality bamboo cabinetry and furniture items that are sure to elevate any of our home models.
EXTERIOR & INTERIOR STAIRS
If your building is elevated off the ground requiring stair access to the entry, or if your building includes a loft/second story, your stairs are built by your contractor using locally sourced material.
INTERIOR WALLS & WALL FINISH
If your building package is a hybrid kit, this applies to all walls (both perimeter and interior). If your building package is a signature kit, it applies only to the interior partition walls. The walls will be conventionally framed by your contractor using locally sourced materials and finished according to your preferences.
CERTIFIED ASSEMBLY
This is what your building might look like after the items included in the kit are assembled. Bamboo Living's team of experienced and certified assemblers can get your building to this point, with all remaining items (such as flooring, door, window, fixture, and appliance installations) to be finished by your contractor. The bright green membrane pictured is a roofing underlayment that aids in additional waterproofing. While the material cost for this underlayment is not included in the building kit cost, our assemblers complete the installation as the final step of the assembly process.
