In 1995, we built the first bamboo houses in the United States for Kutira and Raphael at the Maui Eco Retreat, pictured below. Today, 28 years later, those incredible bamboo homes are still standing strong and have welcomed thousands of visitors throughout the years, enchanting guests with the beauty and longevity of our bamboo homes.

We formed Bamboo Living in 2003 to meet the growing demand for bamboo homes. It was tough at first to convince people that bamboo homes could handle Hawaii's challenging conditions, so we offered a 20-year warranty to prove their durability. We’re happy to report that our first bamboo homes are now over 28 years old, thriving long past their warranties.
This achievement demonstrates that our homes not only meet but exceed the highest industry standards for quality and structural integrity. For the last twenty-eight years, we have engineered our buildings to provide a lifetime of quality and safety.
